The short answer: in the .ao extensions we sell, a name with fewer than three characters cannot be registered. A name with exactly three has a special price and cannot be bought through the cart: you ask for a quote. From four characters up, the normal table price applies.
The “name” is the part before the extension. In example.co.ao the name is example, and only that part is counted, without the dot and without the extension. The rule covers the five .ao extensions we sell: .ao, .co.ao, .edu.ao, .it.ao and .org.ao.

How to ask for a three-character name
| 1 |
Check the name is free on the WHOIS lookup. A taken name cannot be quoted: you need to choose another.
| 2 |
Ask for the quote on Ask for a quote, with the exact name and the extension you want (for example .ao or .co.ao). What to fill in and what you get is in Asking for a quote.
| 3 |
We reply with the amount. If you accept it, we handle the registration for you.
Do not guess the price from the table. The price of a three-character name depends on the name itself and does not appear on Domain prices. Working it out from the table gets it wrong: ask for the quote.
If your name has only three letters because it is an acronym, try the same acronym with one more element tied to the business, such as the trade or the city. It becomes four characters or more and goes back to the table price. And if you have not settled on the extension yet, see a .com or a country domain.
