How to transfer a domain to us

Bringing a domain you registered elsewhere over to us. The transfer keeps the time you already paid for — it is added to the new period, not lost.

Before you start

1 The domain must be more than 60 days old and must not have been transferred in the last 60 days — this is an ICANN rule, not ours.
2 Unlock the domain at the current provider (look for "Transfer Lock" or "Registrar Lock").
3 Get the authorisation code — also called EPP code or AuthCode. The current provider gives it to you, usually by e-mail.
4 Check the domain's contact e-mail is one you can read — the confirmation is sent there.

Making the transfer

1 Order the transfer through the site, entering the domain and the authorisation code.
2 If there is a cost, pay the transfer invoice — transfers of .mz domains are free, and for other extensions the amount (which normally includes another year of registration) is shown before you confirm. See how to pay your invoice.
3 Confirm the request in the e-mail that arrives at the domain's contact address. Without this confirmation the transfer does not proceed.
4 Wait: transfers typically complete in 5 to 7 days. The current provider can release it sooner if you approve it on their side too.

Domains that can't be transferred this way. Some national extensions (including several African ones) follow their own registry process instead of the EPP code. If the option doesn't appear or the code is refused, open a ticket and we handle it manually.
