Hosting providers in Angola: what to compare before deciding

Choosing a provider in Angola has its own difficulty: there are few, and their pages nearly all say the same. These are the questions that tell them apart.

The seven points that decide it

1 Do they register .ao domains? That is the first filter. A provider that does not forces you to handle the domain elsewhere.
2 Do they charge in kwanzas? A price in a foreign currency is not a fixed price.
3 Do they issue an invoice your accountant accepts?
4 Which panel do they use? cPanel and Plesk make leaving easier; a proprietary panel locks you in more.
5 How do backups work — frequency, retention, and whether restoring costs.
6 What hours does support answer, and through which channel.
7 What is the renewal price, not the promotional one.

What exists in Angola today

1 DNS.AO — not a hosting provider: it is the national registry for the .ao zone, under INFOSI. That is where the zone is managed and where companies get accredited as registrars. See registering a .ao: at DNS.AO or through a provider .
2 AngoHost — advertises hosting in Angola, .AO domains and VPS.
3 Interweb — hosting with cPanel, free SSL, backups every night before dawn kept for a year, .ao domains, invoices in kwanzas and support in Portuguese: WhatsApp, ticket and e-mail 24 hours, phone from 08:00 to 16:00.
